Hey all.
Just spoke to Wouxun and they are looking to release the final version in the next few weeks.
I’d like to make a list of comments/suggestions for them to add to their Nice to have/need to have list for us Hams.
Here’s a chance to actually have a say in what’s coming up. Comment here or by emailing me on using the contact form and tell me what you’d love to see on a ham radio.
Some other news is brewing and when I get confirmation on the validity of it i’ll let you all know.
Make your rotary encoders reliable. Fix the below-average harmonic suppression. A more realistic price tag would help, too.
Already ahead of you there on the rotary encoders. There is room for more filtering and I believe that this next version will have some extra capacity in it.
Maybe there’s a lesson to be learned here for Wouxun. Have a radio tested by capable techs *before* putting them onto the market.
Negative news always travels faster, and is stored in a human’s brain longer.
Any idea how you change the frequency rang?
I have a European version and travel to the USA, so need the extra frequency coverage?
I’ll ask on Sunday when I speak to them.
Frequency range is determined by software. I have it here. Not standard part of the package though, and not meant to distribute to end users. Ask the company importing the radio if the want to extend the range.
